Central Hospital, NCR Prayagraj gets new, advanced Truenat RTPCR testing machine

PRAYAGRAJ, May 20 (HS): With dedicated efforts of GM/NCR V. K.Tripathi, a Four Channel Truelab Real Time Quantitative micro PCR Analyzer system has been installed in Department of Microbiology, Central Hospital, NCR Prayagraj. This 4 Channel Truenat PCR system is in addition to the already existing single channel Truenat PCR Machine which was used in the lab until now. With the availability of this 4 channel Truenat RT PCR machine, the number of tests performed will be increased to up to 30-40 tests in single shift. Several other test can also be performed on this machine like COVID-19, MTB/MTB Plus, HLAB-27, Dengue, H1N1, HBV etc and reports can be available the same day. During this crucial time of ongoing Pandemic this Truenat machine will be very helpful for early diagnosis of Covid as it will reduce the waiting time significantly. Earlier the hospital could perform only 8 to 10 tests per day but with the availability of this 4 channel Truelab PCR system other tests like MTB, HBV can be easily performed along with COVID-19 easily. Beside this the lab at Central hospital has started doing D-Dimer, Ferritin, PCT, CRP etc in house and reports are available same day. This machine will facilitate in early diagnosis and will be of great help not only for railway employees but for the people of Prayagraj as well. HS/Abhishek Awasthi
